I recently watched Death Becomes Her, a classic film starring Merly Streep, Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis, which raised the subject of eternal youth. For those who remember? The two women were plagued with jealousy for each-other in an endless competition over who looked better, younger, sexier and more successful. In the end they took drastic measures to attain the idea of everlasting beauty.

I starting to look into the trend of lip fillers. Young women and men are now trading their natural beauty for an exaggerated, afrocentric form of beauty, which they believe to exude sexiness and youth. What could I learn from Death Becomes Her?

When I was in NY a few years ago I bought a lip-plumper by beauty brand New York Colour for $5. This lip-plumper had instant results and my lips were naturally full and kissable without the need for an invasive procedure. I then looked into what these products contained and found that snake venom (when controlled) actually plumped the skin and filled it out; almost like micro-swelling causing the skin to look more smooth and youthful.

After some research I found a brand called Cougar.  All their products are under £10 and the result have been good as well as making me look more awake and fresh in the mornings. I wear the night cream and serum before bed and the perfect pout under my lipstick as a base which tingles and then pow! I am not saying that you will suddenly look Meryl Steep or Goldie Hawn but it’s much safer and much cheaper than going full Kylie Jenner and possibly regretting your trout-pout. Many other brands use snake venom and it seems like the little beauty secret for a little eternal youth.
